Hurricane Update
The girls were gone from Sunday morning to Thursday night and we missed them soooo much. We were upset that the girls were gone so long, but at the same time grateful that the Rendine's took them safely away during the Rukus. Timmy and I were busy with generators- mom and dads house and the Rendine's). Hurricanes are never fun and it makes people either pissed off at the world or grateful and humble. I, unfortunately should have been the later, but for some reason I was very pissed at the whole thing- although God spared our house from harm. When Becky and I got home Monday night- after driving through Gustav's final bands- I remember thinking about Katrina's after math. There is nothing like that erie sound - a noise like hundreds of lawn mowers when no lawns are being cut- just electricity being produced. Also, the sky that normally glows from light pollutions is clear crisp - and on the lighter side of things- the stars never shine brighter.

Hurricane (aka aggravatiacane) Gustov
I hate a hurricane!!! I am at the Our Lady of the Lake Hospital watching small branches fly by the window (I am on the 3rd floor). Not the way I imagined myself spending my Labor Day vacation!! Becky and I stayed in Baton Rouge last night and the girls stayed in Birmingham, AL with Becky's family and Uncle Timmy. The lights keep going on and off here at the hospital. I believe the winds are Tropical Storm force to low Hurricane force- pretty amazing here in BR.
